Med Reduction

I got a call from my psychiatrist today, he said he received a message from my gp about my tiredness & fatigue etc & he said it was ok to reduce my meds again, i am on a low dose already so he suggested reducing the morning med by half so 100mg down to 50mgs.

I need to mention that we tried stopping them a few years ago and i got unwell again so i’ll need to be super careful & follow the dr’s advice as best i can

Hey guys, i reduced my morning dose today, it was my P/docs idea, bc i have been getting very tired and other things, i coped ok but i felt the decrease bc i felt a bit disorientated but things were also a lot clearer (more vibrant) so i am hopeful, also i wasn’t tired at all when driving.

I would not recommend reducing meds without a Dr’s consent though, I had spoken with my GP about my tiredness and fatigue etc and she sent a letter to my P/Doc.

The last time i reduced my meds i managed to cut it down very low but it got to a point where symptoms were starting to return so i have to be incredibly careful, also i got lost in the reduction (I mean by that i became delusional) & didn’t realise i had to take my med again which ended up with me being hospitalised again during the pandemic…

Idk if i can come off meds completely dreamer as much as i’d like to but this has at least eased some of the side effects.

I seem to be very sensitive to this med now even at a low dose (I’m already on a low dose, it was 100mg morning and night nights its only 50mgs morning 100mg at night now.

@Aziz sorry to hear that Aziz

I quit 200mg amisulpride cold turkey once. Took me like 3 weeks to get really paranoid. I’m pretty positive I never had such persistent low level visual hallucinations before, my vision remained weird for a while after symptoms were gone. And some residual paranoia lingered for a few months even when I started seroquel on its full dose.

I’m way better from negatives though. I’m not sure if it was the amisulpride the one who did it, but I started getting better around the time I first took it. It was probably one of the best meds I took, but the one that messed up the most when I quit (went cold turkey for pretty much every ap I took at some point lol)

I definitely would not recommend going cold turkey, quiting meds suddenly like that is dangerous, i don’t think a dr would do that either
