I feel like you’ve dumped a therapist before,
Have you?
Yeah but only once and that was after 6 1/2 years. The new one I just dumped today was a ptsd/emdr therapist. I’m trying to get one for cbt/dbt because I think the emdr was helpful but not something you need to do long term. I’m looking for a woman therapist who’s closer to my age now, so I can connect with her better on an everyday type of basis. I found a good match that takes Medicare but wanna talk to her first.
I thought you had one that feed your delusions,
Is this the same one?
That was the one I had for 6.5 years! This one is careful to avoid deluded thinking. All she has done the past two months is say “how are we going to get you to work and stop smoking weed”. I tell her I don’t wanna do any of that right now and she keeps being intrusive and nosy IMO and telling me we need to do more therapy so I can function like a robot/drone in our society. But she was understanding when I said I thought I accomplished what I was set out to, today. So at least ended on a good note. She says I can always go back if the trauma starts bothering me again.
Just my option,
But I feel like you should give it another chance.
Sure, she’s not perfect or even near perfect,
But from what you’re saying, it seems she understood a lot about treating you.
Maybe you do need more therapy, and you do want to work and stop smoking weed,
She’s just pushing you to do the things YOU wanted to do.
Then again, maybe you’re picking up on something that I don’t get,
In that case,
I hope you find someone new that really helps.
