Man uk food prices have shot up

Not sure if it is because of brexit or covid. But my weekly shop is like 20% more

It could also be because of the blocked cargo ship in the Suez Canal.

Food prices are going up because of it.
So they say.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. Yet another price hike on the way!

Fuel costs going up aren’t helping.

I think brexit is a good thing. But what do I know. Food is going up but we see people still buy 200 dollar shoes and apple computers and crap. I just bought hot dog buns at the super market for 2 dollars for 16 buns and a loaf of bread was 2 dollars for my favorite kind.

Gas is going up but some parts of America are a dollar or dollar and a half cheaper than California.

Prepare for it getting worse…

I’m mostly concerned about the border issue (and crime) but I’ll just get flagged here so I won’t say anything.

Same here. The cost of groceries has gone up significantly. I’m in Michigan

I really hope you’ve done research about things like Brexit beyond simply watching CNN. You don’t have to look very hard to see what it means in terms of economics.

Enlighten me please? I dont watch cnn, but the EU and big government is bad overall. More freedom and prosperity and independence from foreign powers and countries. Im coming from a libertarian standpoint.

Unfortunately, whether it be food or anything else, they’ll be those who’ll exploit a situation , because,to put it bluntly, they’re greedy ■■■■■■■■. I haven’t checked the situation re food prices, but I had an email saying my broadband and phone package “will increase each year by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation plus 3.9%.”

i can rough it if i want

Maybe some food prices are going up, but with my current diet I have noticed that fruit prices are quite low. Also three packs of coffee was just 9 euros ( this is 1.5 kg coffee). I think that where I live there is a lot of competition.
