I kind of accidentally started intermittent fasting because I normally only eat in an 8 hour window now. It’s actually done great for me telling when I’m genuinely hungry and when I’m just bored/sad and want a snack.
More power to you, @Wave. I could never go on a low carb diet. I love my carbs too much. Likewise, I could never fast either. I get hypoglycemic from fasting and then, I black out. Counting calories works for me.
I’ve been intermittent fasting. I’ve lost 15 pounds. it’s 4:10 pm and I still haven’t ate today.
I’m not hungry, it seems I can go 20+ hours without eating. my metabolism has slowed down a great deal. when i do eat i’ll probably take in 1,000 calories. that seems to fill me up.
@Wave, this intermittent fasting sounds really cool and easy. I already eat only two meals a day: breakfast and dinner. But, I can’t eat in an eight hour window because I have to eat a full meal in the morning with my meds and also in the evening with my meds, so this intermittent fasting would not work for me.
I wake in the morning and eat breakfast both at around 4 am and I eat dinner about 5 pm. I go without lunch.
Besides, I don’t think the body cares about when you eat or fast. I think it only cares about how many calories you take in compared to how many you are burning. And also how much sleep you are getting. Because the less sleep you get, the more you end up eating.
im cutting calories and walking to become as shredded as i was before medicine. obtainable goal. I’m not really fat i just want to be lean like I naturally am without meds.
I know how to lose weight, and I’ve done so in the past, it’s just so hard and miserable to do.
Diet requires a huge amount of self discipline which I’m often lacking in. (I get anxiety-eating at night time, that’s what gets me) Exercise requires the same and also is just…not pleasant in general. The only thing I like about exercise is how good it feels to stop the workout.
I’m on invega sustenna. I have gained 60 lbs. I am to exhausted to exercise. I eat all day. I have tried intermittent fasting. It worked for 4 days then I couldn’t stand the hunger anymore. I don’t mind the weight, I just don’t care for the way the meds make me look all nasty and make me feel like crap.
walking is a very, very easy way to lose weight. find a nice local trail to walk on. or if you have the property for it, walk on your land, which is what i do
I do enjoy walking, I used to burn a lot of calories in college because I walked everywhere. It’s harder now that I’m back at home. Anywhow I won’t be walking any time soon as it’s summer and summer where I live being outside is like death. Maybe when it’s nicer out that’s a good idea!
I can’t fast anymore cuz I let the illness take over and start to think I started the fast cuz food was poisoning me and can end up going literally weeks without eating. I love seeing my weight drop, tho, when I do this, even tho it’s so unhealthy. Now, on Haldol and Abilify shots, I constantly want to eat and it sucks!
