Lions mane

Bought some of this, anyone take it? Has it helped? I get really bad anxiety from the abilify so hoping it would help

I’ve taken it for cognition and sleep. Don’t know if it helps against anxiety, but doesen’t hurt to try.

I found it interacted with Abilify and made things worse.

I have taken it for the past couple years. It’s lived up to the hype for me. I take the more concentrated form, Amyloban.

Things I like:

  • Keeps the hallucinations away (this could also be due to other treatment factors though)
  • No weight gain
  • Helps with nerve pain also

Things I didn’t like:

  • expensive
  • Triggered my POTS issues in high doses (this is likely due to my brain cyst, though)

If you talk to your doc about it, I recommend bringing along a couple studies. It is a fairly obscure supplement, and most docs haven’t heard about it.

What specifically did it make worse for you? the anxiety?

For amyloban3399: here’s my previous post

So… Day 3 on Amyloban 3399.

Down to 4 pills instead of 6. I still feel as sedated, depressed and spaced out as before. It’s very uncomfortable and again even with 4 pills I don’t know how long more I can tolerate it.

When i can no longer tolerate even 4 pills. I’ll try 2 pills a day.

For generic lion’s mane

Ok.

I’m stopping my generic Lion’s mane. It’s giving me neck pains. I had to stop taurine for the same reason.

Maybe supplements just interact with abilify more than other anti psychotics. NAC was the worst with abilify.

Probably just as well it didn’t work out as Lion’s mane lowers blood sugar and I’m taking metformin already.

I hope it all works out for others though.
