Learned something, electric tobacco

I visited my local place for mentally ill people and learned that many are actually using electric tobacco. Have you used this?

E-cigarettes? Not sure why but there is a huge campaign to ban them here in Australia. Seems it’s helped a few to end the habit of smoking though.

I have been using E cigarettes for several months now. Benefits: 1) much cheaper than cigarettes. 2) not neary as toxic as cigarettes; all it is water vapor laced with nicotine, no tar or other contaminates. 3) you can smoke them just about anywhere

I learned that these e-cigarettes are actually quite sophisticated and people can order items such as batteries from China and other places. I also learned that liquid nicotine can not be sold in Finland and so people who use e-cigs order these liquid nicotine bottles from elsewhere such as Spain and America. This may be one uncontrolled area at this time, but how I perceived people who had these was that they were quite sophisticated.

I haven’t read to much on them lately however I have read some articles that can make you question how safe they are in the long run. Some flavored E-liquids have been making children sick. Some of the E-liquids are actually pretty high in nicotine and just because the person isn’t exhaling ‘smoke’ they are still smoking nicotine. Some have been converting the devise for marijuana us. For someone who doesn’t smoke a lot it can further or grow the addiction as the person feels comfortable smoking more because it’s vapor. I don’t think any long term studies have been done on the affects of smoking this vapor and what it could be doing to the lungs. Not that smoking nicotine and tar is good for the lungs  but at least we know the risks.

Also this liquid nicotine can cause some real nicotine poisoning if a person drinks it for some reason or another. I learned also that some young people have become ill after using e-cigs due to high nicotine content.
