yeah so I gotta take latuda again. The more weight neutral drug. I was on it for awhile did quite well. Anyway what made me stop that was this awful depression I would take it at bedtime and literally try to be battling those thoughts out of my head of course on some nights worked when I fell asleep before the side effect took effect. Hey how come depression isn’t listed on the latuda side effects on their page. Is it rare to experience it or something I should fare better now I’m armed with trazodone to clonk me out I’m going to at bedtime take my trazodone wait like 10 minutes give it a head start then drink the latuda tab seriously u guys would never want to undergo that ■■■■ it’s because risperidone well anyway save that for another thread
I took latuda for a month and the worst side effect for me was the akathisia. Which was extreme inner restlessness or technically speaking an internal hell where no matter how much you moved u still had to move. I never really noticed any depression maybe it was there but i was more focused on how to stop the akathisia
Akathisia did u have it with any of the other meds u have tried or just latuda I was fortunate not to have it were u productive while u were moving?
Believe it or not, depression is a possible side effect of most antipsychotics. It’s because they are dopamine antagonists which means they block a feel good chemical all over the brain, not just where there is too much of it, unfortunately.
Same with akathisia, akathisia is caused by dopamine blockage in the wrong part of the brain. I have akathisia and I take Geodon.
Tell your psychiatrist, give them a call.
I had to try different doses of different meds until I got feeling better. It requires some diligence and patience and also openness on your part about how the meds are working. It took me about five months to find the perfect mix of meds for me, calling my psychiatrist rather often and going in his office once every couple weeks or so.
You could try taking it with food and seeing if that makes it not hit your brain so hard. I have to take my Geodon with food or else I just take a nap and then wake up crazier than ever.
