Anyone on or tried Latuda?

I’m going to ask my doctor about trying this one and I just wanted to hear you guys out first. I’ve stopped reading med reviews online because those don’t typically have successful stories on them.

It’s a good drug but it stopped working for me unfortunately, I was on it for 5 years.

Its great though, it has anti depressant properties too.

My dosage was 80mg.

Yah I don’t expect to be on it forever. I just need something to get me through my undergraduate. I’m looking at it because I’m at risk of diabetes, and the metabolic effects of this seem low.

It was one of the best AP’s I was on, but unfortunately I couldn’t take the akathisia.
It has a very good antidepressant effect and is calming.

Yah I have read a lot about this med and akathisia. I’m also looking into some typical ap’s but I think it would be safer to start with latuda.

It doesn’t effect everyone.
I just tend to be prone to it for some reason.

I just hope I don’t get whatever geodon is causing. Still not sure if it is akathisia or not.

I was on Latuda for a short time. I got off it because it seemed like I was angry the whole time I was on it. That could have been from coming off Geodon and Seroquel, though. I got back on my old med’s because they have worked well for me for a long time. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I took latuda at 120mg. Never went higher. Latuda worsened my voices and paranoia.

That’s not to say it won’t help you. I hope it will we’re all different with meds.

Thanks roxanna. I hope it works too. I’m also thinking about trying some typical meds too like prolixin

I take 40 mg of Latuda a day. It helps with my mood and negatives. I also take 80 mg of Geodon twice a day. So Latuda is a 2nd AP for me. Geodon is my primary

Latuda has almost no side effects for me. Just some muscle tremors at night. For the most part I can be a high functioning person on it.

Yah that’s how I hope it works for me

@Air
At 40mg and 80mg, Latuda took away most of my voices. At 120mg, it took away ALL of my voices and delusions. It gave me terrible akathisia, but I took 10mg Propranolol twice a day with it, and the akathisia went away. On Latuda, I was able to read and write, but in conversation I didn’t have as many thoughts. I often felt bored. Also, it did not lift my mood, I remained depressed. I slept about 11 hours each night on it and took a 1.5 hour nap every day.

Sorry it gave you so many side effects. I don’t have voices so I don’t think I will need such a high dose but we will see I guess if it works for me or not. I just get so nervous about changing meds. i really don’t want another hospital trip.

Hoping the best for you!! Latuda gave me the least side effects of all the meds I’ve been on - I’m just sensitive! Don’t worry! If it doesn’t work, you just switch! I KNOW how hard med changes are! Reach out for support! It’s a daunting process!

I am currently on latuda and am stable and doing well.

I was on 120mg but I was doing so well I’m only on 80mg now.

I had severe jaw clenching that was awful and benzotrap did not help nor did antanex but thankfully it just went away so I nolonger have it.
