I wouldnā€™t spread pessimistic informations like this so easily.

well they had a different kind of sz than I do. I have the rarest form, its so scary that it doesnā€™t have a name just yet. It literally has eaten parts of my brain. Thats why I am donating it to research, so no one else has to suffer like this :wink:

John Nash is dead btw. He got creamed in a car wreck on the New Jersey Turnpike. Ellen is a smartypants but she refused to take medication for many years. Maybe thats why she still has her mind

If parts of my brain arenā€™t dead than those parts of me have to be absolute pros when it comes to giving the silent treatment. Good lord, couldnā€™t be more disciplined at that.

I donā€™t see how a simple statement about the meds causing brain damage is going to get me suspended, especially when this very same site posts news articles about the detrimental side effects of Antipsychotics.

yea wave, Iā€™m not Anti-med. Im not sure where you got that from. I said I had a rare type of drug induced sz. You just posted anti med before about Gabapentin and not trusting your psych.

There are different root causes for psychosis. Drug use, organic brain diseases like multiple sclerosis or Alzheimerā€™s disease, plus psychosis that is most widely discussed here, Sz or bi polar disorder, manic depression.

Brain images, pet scans, MRI will show the different ways that the brain changes, shrinks, utilizes glucose or not, or even fills with cerebral spinal fluid due to these disease or drug conditions.

I donā€™t think mine has filled with spinal fluid yet, but Iā€™m not sure. Ten years ago I had an MRI, PET, and SPECT scan done on my head and the neurologist said I had a mild Asymmetry in the deep central grey area, and decreased profusion throughout the orbital frontal region. He gave me a script for lamictal and told me not to take Atypicals. Its been ten years, Ive had about 6 episodes since then, for all I know half my brain could be missing now my cognitives are so bad.

Me too, my brain showed similar deterioration, but itā€™s from my myasthenia Gravis condition not the meds I take. Mine is shrinking similar to Alzheimerā€™s but without the plaques. I had to see some high powered specialists for that too.

Maybe consider requesting a follow up MRI since its been 10 years.

I looked and I couldnā€™t find where you quoted that from. The only evidence that I have is what my neurologist told me when I went to see him a few years ago. He suggested that I stop antipsychotics after checking my flexibility in my arms and put me on lamictal. I always assumed after that they were bad for you, because I figured as a neurologist he would know better than a psychiatrist.

damn, Iā€™m sorry that you have to deal with that as well. I was under the impression that MG was curable with a certain type of vitamin or mineral.
