Kids these days talking about mh

I keep hearing kids talking about mh issues beyond their age. Eg. My neighbours kid just threw a tantrum, said she hates her mum and shes going to kill herself shes 9 wtf

My first suicide attempt was at 7. It’s unusual but not unheard of. Sounds like this kid is just trying to manipulate mom.

Most of the time I hear kids talking about mental health and how it needs to improve. Specifically gen z. They’re all about cutting down stigma. Of course not all of them but a lot of them are at least from what I’ve seen. I’m hopeful about future generations because of them.

Really distressing to hear by the way. Theres a lot of talking about mh issues in the media now so they must be picking up on a lot of vocabulary

Is it a good thing everyone being so open i don’t know?

I think so. It’s better than keeping everything private. Keeping too private allows stigma to thrive. People usually won’t readily accept what they haven’t seen before. They more they see, the more they’re willing to understand. And more importantly help.

I sincerely hope they get their child some professional help because thats a huge red flag at any age. Definitely sounds manipulative and im sure they learned it from somewhere, maybe their parents say similar things

I doubt the parents say anything like that they both are ok, i think they lack the skills to manage a troubled kid

@Moon your right it is a red flag

Im stressed now i listened to her teasing her sister, hitting her sister, having a tantrum aggressive to her mum , screaming mum get off me and then more noises. Geez i wish they would move already, 2 bed flat with 3 kids, too much. My face is flushed from feeling so stressed listening to it all
