Just took Unprescribed Meds -- OK or Not? Freaking out Here!

Wow, you took that out of context. At that link, it should’ve explained that if patient gets dystonic reaction, after administering Benadryl, you must not give what AP caused it ever again. Why? Because this means you are allergic to whatever AP gave you Dystonia.

How do I know this? Because on my medical list of allergies, one is: Abilify 10 mg.

I don’t know who you are, but it’s not cool to do what you’re doing. Some people here really have SZ or severe disorders.

Yeah, that sounds good, I guess. I was just talking about Dystonia. Dystonic reaction means allergic reaction to an AP, and if that happens, the patient must never take that AP again.

No psychiatrist would say this unless he/she thinks you might be allergic. Actually, if that’s the case, the psychiatrist would not prescribe an AP you may be allergic to. It would mean the AP would not help you. You can argue maybe a different dose? But it’s too risky, if you are allergic to the AP.

You just said you weren’t allergic anything. Yet you claimed in your original post that you allegedly took Haldol and Benadryl. If you weren’t allergic, you would have no need for Benadryl.

So are you allergic to Haldol or not?

You’re in no place to say that I don’t have an illness. If I didn’t have an illness I never would’ve been prescribed Haldol, Invega, Risperdal, Seroquel, Latuda, Abilify, Lithium, or Neurontin in the first place. I’m on a starter dose of Abilify plus Lithium and Neurontin right now, because I have Schizoaffective Disorder. I’ve been committed three times and voluntarily admitted 4 times. I have hypomanic episodes and psychotic episodes and you shouldn’t try to minimize or judge my condition because I made a stupid decision and took an extra pill.

The doctor who gave me the Haldol told me to take Benadryl with it to prevent dystonia. I’m guessing she knows more about this than you or I do.

@SlowMotional Benadryl may be used for extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS).

“Commonly used medications for EPS are anticholinergic agents such as benztropine (Cogentin), diphenhydramine (Benadryl), and trihexyphenidyl (Artane).”

I know. That’s how I know “Sooner88” is lying. When I got dystonic reaction from 10mg of Abilify, I needed an injection of Benadryl.

Pill or liquid form will likely not work. Dystonic reaction is so strong that you would need a concentrated injection to cure Dystonia, for sure. That’s what happened to me.

It’s probably not recommended, if you know how to inject yourself. Better get to a hospital or medical facility to have someone inject Benadryl for you.

When I got dystonic reaction from Abilify, it occurred about 24 hours after I took a pill of Abilify. That’s the other thing. I can’t attest to the other many EPS, but I know Dystonia, first-hand. Dystonic reaction may not occur immediately. So the patient may need Benadryl or another like agent if you get EPS a day later after taking an AP.

Stop this nonsense. I have no reason to lie, no reason at all. Have you considered the possibility that maybe the doctor who told me this was wrong? It happens all the time.

Please cool it on the accusations. I have injections that they won’t give me if I haven’t taken an antihistamine beforehand. Doctors will often have people do that as a preventative even if there is no history of anaphylaxis or dystonia. Obviously, the treatment for someone suffering from dystonia is going to be far more intense than it would be for someone just safeguarding against the possibility.

How did this conversation turn from @Sooner88’s concern to @SlowMotional accusing him of faking an illness? I think that’s a bit unfair slowmotional.

Popcorn time…although its late…so I guess its stale popcorn…

Okay, I apologize. I didn’t mean to cause animus. I’m contemplating if I should tell you the story between he and I. I shouldn’t and just move on. But, this is a schizophrenia forum, so it could be interesting to see if this is just my paranoia or if this person really is out to make fun of me.

Well, here goes nothing.

@Sooner88 appears to be someone who I’ve argued with before on NBA basketball commentary forums. A few years ago I used to post comments on NBA.com. I admit some of my comments were “talking trash” but many fans do that anyway. But, somehow I must’ve really ticked off an NBA.com writer or two. And for that, I apologize. I don’t post on NBA.com anymore, anyway. I go to ESPN.com to sometimes post fan comments via my Facebook account on some OKC Thunder games (that is my favorite NBA team). So … this writer is so obsessed with me because of fan comments I made in the past or didn’t agree with something he wrote … to the point he seems to have hired a hacker to “stalk” me online. Does this sound realistic? Probably not. However, I can see it as clear as day. In my past, there are times I can tell 100% that someone is secretly out to “plot” against me, that it is not paranoia. It isn’t paranoia if they’re “really out to get you.” So … this hacker apparently has a way of being able to trace some sites I go to. Apparently, he knows I joined this site a couple months ago and decided to follow me under the guise of “Sooner88”. He chose that nickname as a way to stick it to me because he knows I am an Oklahoma City Thunder fan. So, he decided to make “Sooner88” as a reference to OKC college teams. You know what I mean? This writer or hacker is so obsessed with me that they are willing to follow me even to sites like SZ.com just to mock me. Just because I made fan opinions years ago.

Few people tend to want to plot against me and won’t let bygones be bygones. My intent is never to make some sort of lifelong feud with anyone. What the heck? People are allowed to make arguments over topics, happens all the time. It’s the neverending proof I have SZ, you know?

If I am paranoid, then that is good. Then I am wrong and Sooner88’s story is real. Trust me, though. I see it clear as day. Notice he didn’t bring up EPS symptoms/conditions; he only brought up “Dystonia.” Want to know why? Because I posted about Dystonia I had in the past previously on this site. So he knows this and decides to bring it up in an explicit way with the sole purpose of mocking me and trivializing what I’ve gone through.

So am I paranoid or am I right that he is lying about his originally posted story on this thread?

I apologize for being accusational, but if you believe his story, I don’t know what to tell you. He’s talking about APs as if they’re pieces of candy or something. If you don’t see the insulting slant, then you may need to open your eyes. There are bad people out there who will go online under fake aliases to lie about stuff. You have to just be aware of that. I’ll just leave it at that.

So let’s just move on. I bet Sooner88 won’t make up extreme stories like this again because he knows he won’t be able to explain as factual. He knows I got him. He refuses to admit it and always wants to harass or argue with me, but he knows I got him on a lie.
