I think that’s the missing bit of the jigsaw as to why I don’t get along with him.
Does anyone else have family that they still have to see but would rather not? What’s the solution ?

my brother in law is an as*…ive known him for 25 yrs…I only ever remember being rude to him when I was a teen as I used to fight with my sister…in any case I try to get on with him but he still cold shoulders me…
I even apologised to him for being rude to him twice in my life but still he is very judgemenatal and ignotrant.

I had an argument with my brother before Christmas but he’s going through a lot of his own (shit).
Now my Aunt has been driving me batty.
A lot of the hostility is fueled by the Holiday Season.

Oh boy can I ever relate!! My mom brother and I are all roommates. He freaks out over absolutely nothing. God forbid a sock gets missed from a load of laundry, or if I’m not in the mood for fish for dinner so I’ll just make something else. OMG…Big mistake!! He’ll literally scream and yell over things that don’t even matter. He has a serious anger issue and isn’t well, but you can’t tell him that…he just screams and yells more. My brother is definitely a bully when he is like that…he’ll say very hateful things. My stress level is off the charts as both my mom and I have to walk on eggshells not knowing if asking about his day will set him off on a tangent! I even recorded him the day before yesterday so people would know how toxic our living situation really is!! I sure hope no one has to experience what my mom and I have to…it’s like living with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde…literally!! He becomes a monster so-to-speak!!

That’s how it is with my brother too. At least I don’t have to live with him. Your situation sounds very stressful.

VERY!!! At least I can just go hibernate in my room which helps. My mom doesn’t have a room to escape to. Her bed is in the dining room so she gets the brunt of it. He brings her to tears all the time!! 
Does your brother react to specific things or is it unpredictable what sets him off?
My brother has a good heart but he didn’t become so wealthy and powerful by being nice all of the time.
It’s like walking around egg shells around him too!
He is ultra moody and has a high strung personality.
Anything could set him off.
He has a wicked temper!

@Wave… Sorry to hear about the feuding! It’s sad when hostility is fueled by the time of year that’s supposed to be affiliated with love and generosity. Luckily the holidays are pretty much over so perhaps there will be a swift resolution on the horizon??

No don’t get me wrong, my brother has done a lot of nice things for me too.
He isn’t an evil person.
It’s just that he is moody and unpredictable sometimes.
Right now he is going through some tough times.
So I can forgive a lot.
I love my brother.

I can totally understand that…as my brother is very generous and is truly AWESOME when he is in a good mood. It just sounds like my brother is an extreme case as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was no exaggeration for him. One second he’s a blast to be around, but a split second later he’s practically got fiery flames coming out from his mouth. His eyes even look crazy like he’s some psycho killer. It’s very unsettling.

Guess it depends on a person’s definition of a bully. Mine is they physically beat or endanger you. My sisters and I have had tiffs, rudeness, not talking for awhile but I consider that typical banter not bullying.
Sometimes I bicker with my family but it’s just ■■■■■■■■ anyway. We all still love each other and have each other’s backs. I love my family.
