I’ve been away from medicine for a bit now. Why would my doctor recommend just Lithium without anything else? Anyone else take Lithium?

I haven’t been to the pharmacy in a long time, about 9 months. I have two doctors (lead doctor and visiting doctor) but I forgot to ask them last week. My next appointment is in a few weeks.
OK - Can you phone the pharmacy for more information - just until you see your doctor?

That’s kinda weird they usually prescribe lithium with an antipsychotic.
They did previously before I stopped taking my medicine
That’s kind of a dumb thing they did. Maybe there is a reason to it I don’t know.

Maybe your doctor feels like taking a mood stabilizer alone is enough to keep you stable.

I felt okay off of medicine for a bit, but I feel like I’m slipping again. I think they sense that, too. They said I’m on the “precipice.”

If you still have questions, ask your doctor.
Maybe he wants to see how you do without an Antipsychotic in the beginning.
Then he will add one later if needed.
Thanks. That’s what I’m thinking. I’ve said no to abilify last week, and they have been pushing medicine since I stopped myself in February.
That’s not good. Maybe get a second opinion if you can because its not good if you had a mental breakdown.
