I take Abilify (aripiprazole), well I get it in the form of injections, though I used to take the tablets. Either way, it has been the best antipsychotic for me, as far as working well without intolerable side effects. I hope it works well for you, too!

Advice?

  1. Don’t stop or change your meds without Drs advice.
  2. Look into an early psychosis center in your area for more support.
  3. Start taking fish oil, and consider a couple other supplements, such as sarcosine, sodium benzoate, NAC, curcumin.
  4. Try to get as much family support as you can.

My advice is to take your meds, and get plugged in somewhere for support like a MI clubhouse in your area or NAMI.

I’m doing pretty well on abilify. It’s the best for me I’ve found yet. Oh and welcome here :blush:

Abilify has helped with my paranoia and my bizarre disorganized behavior.

I take abilify. Make sure you get blood tests every 6 months. Abilify raised my blood sugar which came to light after a routine blood test. And now I take metformin to treat that.

It also increased my anxiety so I take an over the counter supplement called L-theanine to treat that. Previously I was on Cloneazepam to treat it.

10mg is the lowest dose you should be on. It acts as an antipsychotic at 10mg and higher. It acts as just an antidepressant at 5mg.

Take it at the exact time everyday orherwise you’ll have vivid dreams/nightmares maybe.

I experimented with taking it at night before bed and at noon. Noon was much better.

Hi, welcome to the forum! I take abilify (aripiprazole) too - 10mg for me. I also take celexa (citalopram) for anxiety and depression and propranolol for anxiety.

My only advice is to stay under your doctor’s supervision for any med changes. And to get counseling - it really helped me :slight_smile:
