I think the First question they would ask is about the time gap in your resume, maybe say you spent the time trying to do something that doesn’t have any effects on your resume like trying to go pro in gaming
Remember your value and that you want the job to be a good fit as much as they do. Try to be positive and upbeat, earning an interview is a high compliment, it means they are very interested in you.
I got a job about 4 months ago. My interview was over the telephone. My advice would be to try and read the person interviewing you and adapt to their personality. That requires you to think on your feet.
So far example when I was being interviewed the guy doing the interview came across as annoyed and in a bad mood because he had to do over 300 phone interviews for 20 some odd positions. I picked up on how he was feeling and realized from his perspective he was doing the same repetitive boring task over and over again (asking every candidate the same basic questions) so I did my best to make the interview into a pleasant conversation. I think that made all the difference because I had no relevant experience for this job. At the end he told me I was one of the top candidates and I ended up getting hired. If the remote interview you’re doing is over zoom pay attention to their facial expressions and focus on areas that seem to make them happy or interested in you.
There will probably be questions you were not expecting, those ones are hard. I was asked why I wanted to work for this particular company and I stumbled because I didn’t know much about the company, but other than that one question I did pretty good.
I’m going to research into the company… but keeping convos seems challenging… I hope I can talk with the flow as I normally do, but skeptical since I’ve fallen ill
