I've ruined my tomcat through excessive kindness. I spoiled him

My tomcat is pining for love. He yowls about it constantly, but he is afraid to leave my room. I’ve tried putting him out in the hallway before, and he got really scared and upset. I was going to put him outside a couple of minutes ago, and he dashed to his hiding place on top of my refrigerator. He refuses to go outside. He’s never going to get laid if he remains like that. He’s miserable in my room, though. It is because I coddled him so much when he was growing up.

Get your poor cat fixed! He’s literally suffering. And what happens to he kittens? They most likely end up either starving on the streets or getting euthanized

You mean neutered /spayed?
(I never know which one is for males, and which for females).
Yeah, it is the preferable solution for indoor cats.

It’s probably in your cat’s best interest to get him fixed at this point.

If you’re low on funds, certain animal shelters and vets will perform the surgery for reduced costs or even for free if you are able to prove financial hardship.

…As for “coddling” an innocent animal “too much”?

Doesn’t work that way. They need love and attention just like anybody else.

But I thought @Tomcat was married to someone else?

I’m confoozled.

Yes. Can you do that or can’t you afford it?

I hate it when I ruin my tomcat.

As things are now I don’t need to get him neutered, because he is afraid to leave my room. When I try to get him to go outside he won’t have it.

Ok. Well I hope he feels safe soon

If you scratch a cat too much it starts to demand more and more scratching. I scratch all my cats quite a bit, though. We have a good relationship.
