How do you keep a cat indoors

My cat wants so badly to get outside now that its getting nicer outside. But she can’t go out. She is sneaking outside too often.

Why can’t she go out? My cat goes outside all the time. We just have to be careful because she will attack other animals, even if they’re more than twice her size.

Get her a scratch pad with catnip in it.

My neighbors two houses down call animal control on any time an animal comes onto her yard.

I have an indoor cat. We are very careful not to let him out. I also have a radio transmitter tracking device for him Incase he does.

We live on a golf course. Don’t want him getting in the fairway lol

What a couple of dicks. Ooh, get a cat harness and take her on walks. That would be so cute, plus the little kitty would get to explore.

Nice but expensive

I wonder if she’d like that

Well worth it, we’ve had a few scares and it’s helped us find him over the years. If he’s out there’s no way to get back in. He could starve or be attacked

I’ve used a cat leash before lol

I even bought him a cat stroller and took him to Central Park in nyc once

My Mickey used to walk alongside me when I would go to the park. He was so obedient. I miss him so much.
I love bella but she’s not very obedient.

My cat can’t go out because he doesn’t have any front claws. He came to me that way. He is a very old cat now and he doesn’t want to go out anymore. He’s 16 years.

I think it depends on the cat. Our first cat never wanted to go beyond the front step, just to sniff the air a little. The one we got later kept demanding to go outside until we let her and adjusted to her being an outdoor cat. We gave her frontline every month and let her come and go. She left once for like three hours and scared us, but after coming home she never did that again.

She’s with my grandmother now, and is probably chasing the chipmunks in her garden. They live 10 minutes from here so I still visit.

Lol, a couple of weeks ago, Tink Tink brought me a lizard. I thought it was dead, but when she put it on the ground, it scurried away. My mom found it in her bathroom a few days later. I had to pick it up and take it outside for her. :joy:

I used to have a cat. Kept him indoors all the time. Then one night he got crazy and decided to run out the door when it was opened. It happened to be pouring rain that night, like really hard. He got outside and immediately ran under my car. I had to go out and rescue him. He was soaked and never tried that maneuver again.

There’s a man who has 3 cats here, and walks them 2x day. I did a doubletake the first time I saw him. The cats seem to really enjoy it, too! Lol

I think many cats like to be outside, but only if their owner is with them.
