I've got diabetes now

Haven’t told my family yet,and I don’t test my blood. I just got diagnosed with it like 2 months ago, nothing has changed. I still eat and do everything the same way I always have. I’m too depressed to care. Both my middle toes are turning redder than normal it’s getting harder to hide it, guess they will know when my toes turn black lol!

If you’re joking about them finding out when your toes turn black Cool but if not that’s not cool your health is important. You should keep up with your health since you’ve been diagnosed.

Have u started diabetes med .from now…!!

I was on it,uh, what’s it called, metformin I think. Made me throw up so I quit taking it. I expect my next doctor visit will have a new pill.

My grandma has diabetes and she’s 85 and doing reasonably well. But she has to take a bunch of pills for it.
Anyway, I want to say diabetes is not a death sentence if treated properly.
It sounds to me like you’re content with being depressed. That’s not good. Depression can be seductive. Even addictive. That’s what a certain psychologist told me once. That’s why some patients are reluctant to get better. I hope you’re not like that!!

Whatever dude. I’m not privy to your personal beliefs. Sounds pretty profound anyway

My mother died at age 43 from diabetic complications. She was blind, had limited feeling in her fingers and toes, had lost a toe, had legs covered in ulcers, and her kidneys were damaged. She is what you end up as if you don’t manage your diabetes. Her quality of life was not good.

I’m truly sorry about her. Was she medicated properly? Did she exercise and keep a diet? All these things are crucial for keeping diabetes in check.

Blind because of diabetes ?

She self-medicated (booze, weed). Exercise and diet? Not really until it was too late.

Yep. Diabetic retinopathy. She could still drive, but not well, when I was 5. She was blind by the time I was 10.

You go too far very soon, lots of pills and insulin and cigarettes and many more cures exist for it,
Your fingers will never be black, have the courage dear,

Not sure how cigarettes can help fight diabetes :no_mouth:

Again I am really sorry.
Grandma who has diabetes since 20 years ago finds it hard to take all those pills and keep a diet. But our moral support is what drives her.
