I've been thinking a lot about aging and my looks. How to be a confident mature woman?

I honestly just can’t… Ahh…

I’ve always thought people who let themselves age naturally look better than people with face lifts etc. And anyway you look very good right now. I’ve seen your selfies. Don’t worry. You’re very attractive

its important to moisturise your skin this will help reduce wrinkles. Find a moisturiser that works for you and stick with it that’s what i’ve done.
I look at my mum and she looks good for her age in her 60’s so i’m not too worried about it myself
I kinda just accept aging like i have accepted weight gain. :relaxed:

I think you look great!

I also wish I could look like I did in my twenties, especially with regards to my body. Gravity is a ■■■■■.

No joke.

I’ve already had to lift parts because of gravity.

I feel like that’s easier for men to say.

They don’t have to deal with the ageing process the way we do.

They also can have sex appeal above the age of 40.

For women, it’s harder.

But I understand what you’re saying.

I understand. I think women have more pressure to look ‘flawless’ like no wrinkles and looking young and stuff.

My gf said I can get more wrinkles and look handsome like the crows feet from smiling. But she said she’s just gonna look old lol. So the moisturizers and such.

I’ve often pondered this dilemma, and wondered if it is men’s fault (for selecting on looks). I’ve always found it difficult to compliment women on their appearance. At first I was shy, later I was worried about coming across as creepy, and more recently I’m concerned about reinforcing gender stereotypes. Am I as a an ogling man, propping up a culture of eating disorders and plastic surgery? Or do women just naturally put more effort into their looks?

Don’t be so hard on yourself bro. Its not your fault lol :joy:

@Ribbon Women love being complimented and flattered it’s how we roll
Don’t be shy or worried about offending, so long as it’s from a good place then it’s all good mate

At some point I might make it easier on myself and come to accept this, that is

One thing you left out of your post is that you’re married. If you were single your experience would be different.

You’re joking, right? As married women we have to constantly worry that our SOs will no longer find us attractive. Some men will press their wives to get plastic surgery and still leave them for younger women.

Aging as a woman sucks all around.

I was just thinking about attention from men in general.

I don’t know, the world gets older with me. I don’t notice getting older. It’s a slow process. Something I got used to. The trees around me get older with me.

@anon25873142 @Charles_Foster, I was still a beautiful, young woman at 37. Not so much now at almost 62 though.

And I could care less how men perceive me. At least they’re not pursuing me anymore, thank God.

My mom takes at least 15 minutes every morning using creams and oils on her face and honestly she still looks like she’s barely in her 40’s she’s 63! People are starting to think we’re SISTERS I mean it’s kinda cool because people have thought I was 35 ish since I was 22 and I’m now 28 and people still guess I’m 35 so I’ll be grateful if I don’t look older by 35 but we’ll see lol… She just uses Google to find things that might help her and she makes sure to check the ratings before finding and buying it… I think she buys bout $50 worth of product every 3 months (that’s about how often she buys)

Idk about anyone else but I love attention from my husband and I would get worried if he wouldn’t give me a hug or kiss all day without asking for it and @anon4362788 is right some men will either not touch or straight up leave their wives if they don’t find them attractive anymore… I for one worry about that… One reason I’m trying to do more face washes, lose weight, shave several times a day, and other things

What does the “D” stand for?
