been thru absolute hell, still, it’s been a beautiful life.
just want to lay eyes on my grandson, and know he’ll be in good hands with Beth and Alex.

I think the same thing. But I’m not gonna be hunter s Thompson blow my brains out. But rather I’d surrender to the disease and let it take me.
May I wish good health and success on you and your family @Daze
thank you. yeah, there’s longevity in my family, so there’s hope,
you just never can tell though.
Yup no doubt. Mickey mantle drank alcoholically and smoked cigs because his whole family died young and he ended up living to like 70 somehow despite all the bodily damage.
My moms family was poor so all 3 of her parents died young. But she’s had money ever since she was a rockette at 18 years old. So she’s 72 and in good health. Economics help you live longer I think. that it’s true for my mom. She’s having medical tests done right now so we’ll see how she’s doing.
best wishes for your mom. Mine is 72 and she’s in good health.
my dad has drank and smoked most all of his life, and he’s 72 too.
I was called by a guy from Medicare who said I could get tested and covered
to see if I carry the cancer gene. The only blood relative was my first cousin, cervical cancer.
I would fight it. You never know when you might get an opportunity to lie on the beach in Barcelona, sipping pina coladas.
I’ve done all that. My dad had a condo on the beach in Florida.
Most cervical cancer is caused by HPV, so there’s a pretty good chance it’s not genetic.
Have you been to Paris? I don’t really know what other people like to do.
no, I’ve never left the U.S., my daughter has many times.
I don’t like to fly. I listen to Chill Out music on You Tube,
and they play it with gorgeous photos from all over the world,
so that’s good enough. As far as Paris, I may have liked to walk
the streets that Hemingway did.
Have you been to Key West? I was there, and there’s some bar he used to hang out in. Something like Smokey Joe’s or something. Also, his vacation house, I think.
I’ve never been there, that’s super cool you got to go hang out there.
I think he wrote the Old Man and the Sea while there, it won the Pulitzer.
I’m not too terribly afraid of death itself but honestly the whole idea of intense suffering before hand kind of gives me the Willies.
true. I don’t want to die in a hospital though, stuck on morphine til my last breath.
My mom is 85 and my dad is 88. They are both doing well. I’ve had several relatives living til their late 90s. I don’t want to live that long. I am hoping maybe around 65. I would rather die slowly so I can say my good byes. Something like cancer or liver disease. I’m not afraid to die. As long as my kids are on their own and doing well.
