Its toooooo easy to kill

I held a gun for the first time the other day (my friend bought one out of impulse). I didn’t use actual bullets (the clip was empty) but i loaded it and primed (cocked) it in about 5 seconds without any direction (i used to play airsoft though so that helped) but. In my eyes it is officialy waaaaaayyyyyy too easy to commit murder. What happened to the good old sword by ur side. Not something that can take 10 people out in a matter of seconds. Guns suck. I hate guns and want nothing to do with them. Disagree with me if u will but guns were a terrible invention. I like airsoft though. I don’t know where to put it so i put it in unusual beliefs since probably more then 50% of people would disagree

I don’t think that feeling that guns were a terrible invention is an unusual belief.

It was an inevitable invention, so whether we like or dislike it, we still have to deal with the reality that A. guns exist and will always exist, and B. groups of people will always have access to guns.

People who are of a pragmatic mentality work with the reality they are given in the most strategic way they can, which for many means that since groups of people will always be able to get guns, then most people should be able to get guns in order to prevent as much violence as possible. Mutually assured destruction is often the only way to prevent violence, just like how it works with nuclear warheads.

But does it suck that we live in a world with nuclear warheads, that a handful of people have the power to wipe out all life on earth within a matter of minutes? Yeah, definitely. And feelings are feelings.

I’m a very staunch supporter of the right to bear arms, as I think it is an irrational goal to eliminate the use of firearms on the planet or to trust government personnel to never abuse it if only they have firearms. But to me your feelings about guns are not irrational at all.

That’s one thing that makes me wary of guns. When you have a gun you have to move your finger just a quarter of an inch, and you have done something you can’t take back. However, since so many criminals have guns, I’d like to have one for self protection. I guess you can say I am conflicted about guns.

Yeah, guns suck, I’m lucky I live in a safer country where hardly anyone has a gun.

I hear ya. I was living in the high plains of Kansas. Everybody there has guns, if you didn’t know. They got me shooting guns, and I didn’t like the power trip one bit. It wasn’t a nice feeling to know that at any second I could take the lives of my friends. It made me feel sick.

Once guns were invented they couldn’t be uninvented. So the next best thing is to distribute guns among various people so that someone can stop a person using a gun in such a matter. It works kind of like mutually assured destruction in that you could have people by having people keep them in check. Hopefully that long winded way of saying you could use them for protection didn’t sound too bad.

Unless that gun is on you 24hrs a day, even in the shower. That is the only way that you would be protected. Even with the gun it would probaby not protect you from intruders. How many times on the news do you here self defense killings. Not very often. I think guns should be banned because people in inner cities use them too much. Only the people in the military and police should have guns. It is a messy death if you use it for suicide. Although it is quick.

True, guns can really depersonalize killing. It’s much more difficult to get down and dirty, so to speak. In my dreams many times I am forced to fight and kill in this way. (No guns) It is disturbingly intimate and horrifying/disgusting at the same time. I always wake up from these dreams ashamed and disturbed.

I enjoy shooting (clay pigeons), but I live in the UK and people don’t have guns… and I’m very glad about that, I would be very scared to live in a country where anybody can buy a gun. The more guns people have, the more people get killed by them. I hate it when people say ‘guns don’t kill people, people do’… Yeah, people with guns! The statistics are scary.

Here in Australia the gun laws are very strict

I believe everyone on the face of this planet, (and perhaps inside it), should have the American Constitutional benefit and upheld right to bear arms.

I have to tell you guys some thing, I was very responsible as a kid and I began shooting firearms when I was 7 years old in Texas and Pennsylvania. But I never had the benefit to go hunting, it was just too hard to find land in our area and no one in the family had their farm anymore so I didn’t hunt. I just learned shooting and some responsibility codes and things.

I don’t think that guns should be shunned. I believe that shooting sports and requirements should be in our high schools across the Earth. Everyone should learn the safety standards and bear the responsibility of it. We were expected to by our fore fathers to be responsible and keep our heads and our rights. That’s my opinion of the world standard.

To take a life might be easy, but to give a life must be a whole hard heck of a pain!

Well I don’t think either is really easy, especially when you have to do it for someone else like I did. I can’t help but feel really mixed up over my combat tour and just the life in an artillery paratrooper unit…it was really hard to meet those standards not anyone can do it…but I wanted it bad enough to make it farther than I ever imagined. Now I’m on my own without that team, but some life threatening challenges. I have to be healthy, I demand it. I want to be healthy, and killing people for a living isn’t really healthy. In combat arms units you’re pretty much mentally programmed to kill so you won’t hesitate for a second and it’s like a wolf pack…you’d better keep up with them or else you’re gonna get shat on in the military. Maybe that stuff was part of what broke my mind up into pieces. I feel very fragmented and now I’m trying to be as mature and calm as possible. No one calm and mature and human should ever be forced to kill. Trust me man, if you pointed a gun at some guy with some military or martial arts experience they’d probably disarm you and point it right back at you.

You have to be really mature to use a fire arm, or help work on a car or some type of machinery. Cause any of this stuff can hurt you. I mean let’s be real.

But the thing is, that guy probably should have started with a pistol but a rifle. I started with a single shot and learned how to hit the target first. I mean alot of people get pistols for protection with no firearms experience and I wasn’t brought up that way. BB gun, .22, then shotguns. Anyways, it’s a shame that such a cool sport is condemned by so many people.

I would support it if it wasn’t for abuse

Nobody needs a semi automatic to defend their property

Family dogs are getting shot like predators

Questionable gun control

But going out anyway over a Hitler president

We should never attempt hard controls anyway

The term trigger happy just popped into my head idk why but it makes sense in a lot of ways,

With the fact that we have terrorists that won’t be leaving anytime soon. The best thing for them would be for the government to take away our right to protect our selves. I have no desire to own a weapon but find comfort in the fact that some people carry guns. I wish more would. Criminals and terrorists will always have access ,we should also. Even if all the criminals had no guns it would be good for some citizens to carry. The media in the US don’t spend much time reporting on the criminals that are stopped by armed civilians, but it happens. Nor do they report much on the stabbings and vehicle homicide that could or do get stopped by an armed civilian . The government should always have to answer to the people and there may come a time that we have no voice without guns, hope it never comes to that but our government seems to get more overpowering as time goes by.

Daydreamer most deaths homicides

Someone close to you

By guns

The second biggest is suicide

I don’t lie

Look it up

I don’t know if anyone actually has the statistics on gun crime but I am sure it is pretty shocking.
