It’s been over two weeks since the property manager had the heat shut off to my building. He pays for heat, the building is heated by boilers, and apparently he thought we didn’t need heat anymore until the fall, so he had maintenance shut the boilers down. It was very warm outside when he did that, but it’s been cold for most of the time since then. It’s currently 52F outside. It’s supposed to warm up some next week, just have to get through until then. Every spring and fall we have to deal with cold in our apartments for at least a couple weeks. I’m thinking about going to bed, to get under the covers where it’s warm. Sorry, just venting a little, sucks being cold in your own apartment/house. Talking to him about it does nothing, I’ve tried, he’s a ■■■■■■■ slumlord.

it’s cold in this basement too. i mostly stay under two layers of bed sheets. if i spend too much time outside the covers, i get too cold to be productive. when the heater does turns on, i feel too hot.

I made a compromise. I went and grabbed my comforter off of my bed, so I can sit here at my desk wrapped up, except for my arms so I can still type and smoke.

Yeah, I’m not really a fan of hot weather. Sunny and 70F is ideal for me. I’d rather have it be a little cold than have it be hot. It doesn’t help that my apartment doesn’t have air conditioning.

It’s always cold in Nebraska, that is until July and August when it is sweltering hot.
