Like get better i mean.
Yes it does. But you have to be careful. All the risks associated with schizophrenia are greater the younger you are. Like not taking meds, not engaging with doctors, engaging in risky behaviour , substance abuse, etc.
Make sure you get regular blood tests so you know what your meds are doing to you under the hood.
How are you feeling these days?
Alright i guess. Ive felt pretty apathetic lately though
Maybe im 46 and i dont hear voices anymore but also changed my diet
It gets a little better. But it’s a trade off. When you get older you know yourself a little better, you tend to get a little more tolerant of other people because you understand people better and you know enough about life to emphasize with other peoples struggles.
The downside of aging of course is that your health tends to go and you don’t have as much energy as you did when you were younger.
But some things never change no matter how old you are. You still face a lot of bullsh^t.
I never had a psychotic break until I was 46 (a year and 3 months ago) so I don’t really have a basis of comparison. I have been episode free for 6 months. I hope I stay in remission
Im always reding case studies of 50-70 yr sufferers who have extreme positive symptoms. For many it does not get better, and then you have dementia to worry about.
