It looks like I will be handing out candy this year on Halloween

My dad usually does it but he will be at my nieces wedding related activities, so I get to hand out candy in his place this year. Maybe I will get a mask or something.

Any suggestions to make the little kiddos nervous but not too scared when they come to the door?

Are you decorating? You could put a witch face on your door that cackles when you come close. Or some other decorations like that

Work up a good sweat, shave in a little mustache, wear some thick 80s glasses and say “Ughhhh hey…I’ve been waiting for you.”

We actually have a full size witch in storage that cackles now that you mention it Zannah. We will probably have it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

LOL I pulled that advice out of a pamphlet titled “How to be as creepy as a serial killer.”

That fake spider web mess is cheap and creepy.

I never liked it when I was a kid and it’s fairly easy to put up/take down.

I was excited about passing out candy this year,

We didn’t have trick or treaters the last four years because we lived next door to a murder house.

Or at least I think that’s why.

But was disappointed to learn we don’t get many at the new house either.

Anyway, I think the fake spiders would work well.

My uncle pranked me in Halloween. He got disguised and rang at our door, couldn’t see his face he had a scary mask. I handed him candies then he took all the bag and pulled me outside by my hand lol

I’m not trying to make the trick or treaters nervous when I hand out candy. I guess I’m just not fun. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I’m going to wear a witch hat, though.

I dunno, I remember going up to the creepy houses when I was a younger kid trick or treating as being exciting. To each their own though. I suppose it might be a bit much for the younger kids though. We all have our own roles to play on Halloween. Bwahahaha.

Well, now I’m bummed I didn’t do something scary! I’m going to have to rethink this… I’ve got a few weeks!

My dad has a life size dummy that he rigged up last year so he could pull a string from inside the door and move it’s hand with a fake plastic knife in it. He activated it as they walked up to the door. I don’t know if we will use it this year though. It might be a bit too much for me. And plus it’s a hassle activating every time someone walks up to the door.

That’s AWESOME.

I’m coming to your house.

So I guess telling them stories about Krampus is out of the question?

Dark black rings around your eyes, and some fake blood dripping from the corners of your mouth

A petting zoo, with snakes and scorpions, and the sweets are in the tank close to the animals, so they have to put their hands in. Oooh and a piranha tank. Maybe some electric eels?
