Isn't it funny

…How the most frequently asked questions, the most passionately asked questions, the most relevant questions, are all tied into the “God” word, yet nothing related to that “topic” is allowed here? Why can’t this place be like the real world, where people can talk about anything they want?

If your answer, @szadmin, is that religious discussions stir up strife, so what? There’s strife everywhere in the world! I can’t drive from here to my school without seeing road rage. So your simple-minded solution is to click a button and say “no, reality is not allowed here”.

And if you’re so insistent on keeping things “harmonious”, then why not make a rule: if religious discussions turn into arguments, they will be shut down.

I’m amazed that Christians are basically not allowed to defend their faith on here.

People like @flameoftherhine love to inspire us with their moving, truth-filled monologues, while the ones who are attacked are censored.

It just starts arguments…I see one coming here soon…the holy provide no evidence and it just turns into who can get the last word in…

It isn’t just that they start arguments, though they demonstrably do. It’s that they tend to trigger and fuel delusions. Likewise, discussions about aliens and government monitoring woukd be shut down.

But people need to remember that the prohibition on religious topics applies to anti-religious topics, too. @Nomad is right that it isn’t fair that religious people should be asked to take abuse without being able to respond.

So everyone - find a different forum for your views, pro or anti-religion. It’s not funny, it’s not a joke, it’s deeply upsetting to people on both sides.

So shut up flame…point taken…fair is fair…

All sides. At your best, you’re only ever one side.

I know you gotta say that… but I caused this topic to even be opened up…I was directly mentioned lol…I understand and will refrain myself…

SZ, runs the site. He makes the rules because he knows from experience exactly what religious posts often turn into.
I’m just stating facts.
There’s an old line from a book or a movie or song or something from a long, long time ago. “Never discuss politics and religion with your in-laws”.

We get enough strife and in our real lives, no one needs to come here and butt heads with people who believe passionately in their point of view while the person they are talking to who thinks the complete opposite is just as passionate.

In religious and political discussions on here it seems that they start off fine but when two people disagree, calmness and objectivity fly out the window.

And last but not least, religion is a trigger for many people. Religious delusions are part of many peoples symptoms. I know we are all adults here but nonetheless, it helps the site if people are not encouraged in their delusions and end up getting all worked up.

SZadmin, is perfectly capable of defending himself, he doesn’t need me to chime in. But after being on here for close to six years I have seen how things go and I just felt like putting in my two cents.
