Lots of ways you could try to manipulate the situation.
Stand your ground and if he lays hands on you call the cops.
That would be last resort really.
You can try to be assertive with him, say you want to make things work but there’s some things your stepdad is doing that arn’t working.

He’s definitely laying out don’t f with me vibes, like he finds you threatening influence in relationship with your mom. He might not even fully realize it, and acting hostile automatically. One thing I notice is domineering men want one woman all to himself. I could be wrong, but that might be why he’s unexplainably rude to you.
