Could I please be silenced for 4 hours
I need to take my PRN and chill out for a while.
Sorry for my combative behavior.
I’m calling my doctor first thing tomorrow

I went out with dad today, trying to buy a new printer but it was out of stock. During the short trip to the store and back home, dad found a way to criticize me at least twice. Once for walking faster than him on the pedestrian crossing (his words: “and me? Are you leaving me behind to get run over by a car?”). And some other nonsense.
Later, at home, he criticized the way I keep my arms and hands at the table while eating.
I rarely take it personal. It’s the best course of action! People regularly pointing out negative stuff in others, it’s themselves who have unresolved issues. Getting angry wouldn’t help me, or them.
So your situation may be different, I’m just saying I practice detachment and avoid getting angry as much as possible. I have concluded that anger does myself more harm than good.
Done.

@Wave I hope you feel better after taking your PRN. Can you call your pdoc today? Does your pdoc have an emergency after hours message line?
With regard to your elderly father wanting to drive, definitely discourage him from doing so if he is not safe driving. Just hide the keys but dont be aggressive towards him. Its difficult for an elderly person to give up driving as it limits their independence which is a scary prospect.
I went through this with my elderly mom. Unfortunately, she wouldnt listen to me and she ultimately totalled her car last year. Fortunately she was not injured and.the accident did not involve another car, just her car and a large shrub she drove into. Needless to say, she no longer has a car and no longer drives.
Yes I feel much better after my PRN thanks @Moonbeam
Also my father can drive short distances only if I’m in the car with him.
I don’t trust him driving by himself as he has mobility issues and is very old.
He also doesn’t know how to use GPS and can easily get lost
Although he wants to drive by himself from time to time, I normally gently discourage him from doing so.
Glad you’re feeling better. Your psychiatrist is there to help you. S/he should be able to tell you what’s wrong and what to do about it. Best of luck and hang in there!
Thanks @InnerCircle
I’m glad you feel better. Do you plan to call your pdoc?
I took a really long nap and feel much better.
I also took an extra PRN but I’ll see if I’m manic tomorrow @LilyoftheValley
I’m glad. I hope tomorrow is a great day for you
Thanks @LilyoftheValley 15
Hi wave, I’m sorry if I triggered you saturday or yesterday or when this went down.
To be honest I was not ina good state of mind either, and was subconsciously picking fights.
It took a lot of strength for you to ask for a Silence and I should probably have done so too.
I hope we’re good, I do like you as a person
That’s ok @Pikasaur
I like you too!
