Is this funny or just plain bad?

So, the last woman I dated (spring 2016) had a very good sense of humor. She was a sarcastic smartass, and I loved it. So the one time when we were texting, as a joke I addressed her as “sugar tits.” I thought she would find it funny, but nope, she was not amused at all. Does anyone else find it funny, or was it just plain bad, in poor taste?

Yeah, I’m bored with a half hour left in my shift, so I’m making a thread. I genuinely thought I was being hilarious when I called her that, though lol.

I think that would fall into the category of a harmless remark. I don’t know what kind of things your date was saying about other people, but I imagine it was something worse than calling someone “sugar tits”. Your date might have been genuinely annoyed, but I don’t think she had the right to get angry, given her comments about other people. She might have just been trying to get her bluff in. She might have been cantankerous to keep you a little intimidated. It could be that she is a little insecure, and her best defense is a good offense.

That’s a really risky comment. You would have to get the delivery exactly right, and be with someone who wasn’t easily offended. Maybe in the right circumstances, it could be funny, but generally, I would probably just find it insulting.

I think it’s hilarious, but my tits aren’t made of sugar lol

I don’t get it. Is Sugar Tits a reference to something, or does it have a meaning I’m not familiar with?

If a bf of mine called me sugar tits, I’d probably shrug it off. Why get mad that someone you like thinks you have great cans?

No, not really a reference to anything, no hidden meaning either. I just think it sounds funny, it amuses me.

Ah, terms of endearment. They differ from couple to couple.

You said she was a sarcastic smartass, so if she dished it out she needed to be able to take it.

What did she used to call you? If she used to call you spicy balls then I think your comment was fine.

I don’t remember if she had any terms of endearment for me, but “spicy balls” would be a good one.

I see where it could be funny but if you made her mad you might want to apologize. Ask her why she got offended. I’m sure she will get over it.

Depends on the person. I texted back and forth with a guy a lot we were both very sarcastic said a lot worse than your comment but usually both laughed so hard we cried. However, a few times we both went too far and didn’t text for awhile. lol. But eventually went back at it.

It’s kind of iffy. Maybe she doesn’t like her breasts or something and you hit a sore spot.
Hell, if some girl called me 'sugar balls" I would take it as a compliment and be proud of myself.
