Everytime I drive I think the cops are after me. I avoid driving as much as I can because of this. In all fairness I was riding around with expired tags for awhile. thankfully i got this taken care of but i’m still paranoid.
Maybe it’s because of that. The worrying became a habit?

I have the same little delusion sometimes…
I have the feeling that secret services or cops follow me to investigate me.
yes i am prone to worrying lol. When i was really delusional I thought the cops were going to come for me in my home

I think that cops don’t mess with people like us. They have bigger fish to arrest.

I agree with Follement. I’ve had run ins with popo on several occasions. Usually involving my drug use. Each time I get sent on my way, although this cat’s out of lives. I made a promise to myself no more hard drugs!
That would agitate me to think that cops are trailing behind me. I’d probably drive less, too.
If you have done nothing illegal then the cops would not be after you. When they see you driving you are nothing special to them, just one of a couple hundred people they see every day.
I heard a cop once say that they actually see so many good drivers every day because when anyone sees a cop they usually are going to slow down and drive carefully and be on their best behavior.
And just for the record, I think it’s normal to be a little nervous when you’re driving and you see a cop.
On rare occasions a blinker bulb goes out or you might unconsciously be speeding or not stop completely at a stop sign and you could get pulled over. But just drive safely and keep your car legal and chances are they will let you alone.
But the cops are not singling you out or looking for you personally.They have no reason to.
Cops even overlook minor traffic offenses sometimes if the person looks like a responsible, average citizen. They have bigger fish to fry, like people committing real crimes.

I had an AA sponsor who told me one time he was trying to sue the cops while he was living on the street. He said that in that situation you always think the cops are following, and you realize it would be a simple matter for them to give three hoods their daily dose of heroin if they would stomp your ass. And if the cops are not following you, you think they are. He said life was pretty scary for him back then.

Thanks, you have a point. Now that I got my car legal I think this will ease some of my anxiety a bit more
