Some of the anti-psychotics are better than others when it comes to cognition. However sometimes you trade cognition for anxiety or poor stress management. It can be a mixed bag.
I got a DNA test a couple of weeks ago that will tell the pdoc which medications I am likely to respond to and which I will metabolise faster. Interesting stuff.
Glycine supplements like DMG can be used for improving negative symptoms, cognition etc.
https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-1072/glycine
Possibly Effective for
- Schizophrenia. Taking glycine by mouth along with conventional medicines seems to reduce certain symptoms of schizophrenia, called negative symptoms, in some people who don’t respond to treatment with conventional medicines.
- Stroke. Taking glycine under the tongue for 5 days may help to reduce brain damage due to a stroke that was caused by the blockage of a blood vessel (usually by a clot) in the brain.
Insufficient Evidence for
- Memory and thinking skills (cognitive function). Early research shows that taking glycine by mouth might improve memory and mental performance.
Intermittent fasting and regular exercise improves cognition.
Brain fog and cognitive loss can be due to inflammation in brain. So antioxidants, ant inflammatory things might be useful. These include several things including Vitamin D, Vitamin C, zinc, Vitamin B12, Curcumin (Turmeric), Green tea, Tulsi tea etc.
Neurofeedback may help. I didn’t see any improvements in Cognition(I had some in Attention and Interest) until I hit the 10th session(which I literally just got done with)
I take Lithium Orotate, i really elevates my mood, i feel happier and more positive. I like it.

o yea order bottle of that , it said it helps with sleep, hope it works.
I had better cognition on Latuda than now on Risperdal. Sad that it didn’t work well for my positive symptoms and that it gave me bad akathisia and bad nausea.
I was working as an accountant assistant while on Latuda.
The new sep 363856 is shown to improve cognitive function
What happened when you hit the 10th session?
Typically, we like to leave inactive threads alone and just start a new thread instead. This is different than how some forums are run, but we do it this way because it frequently upsets users to have old topics revived when they are no longer relevant. It can also be frustrating to the person who revived the thread when they don’t get a reply, because the original poster is no longer active or no longer finds the topic relevant. Feel free to start a new thread on this topic.
