Is there an afterlife

my friends dad just died and he was 89 and i hope he gets into heaven
its been giving me a headache and i knew him well
i remember him very well and i visited him in the care home but he got very weak and he died.
i tell myself it is just part of life but its not very nice and it would be good to know that he isnt just gone and he is somewhere nice and safe :frowning:

my friend was deleted and now i am being deleted
its very ironic isnt it

i dont think about heaven a lot or an afterlife but its because i think i will be here for ever
i think we are all invinsible but we are not
we are frail and our bodies are flesh and blood and we bleed just like everybody else
its like i have blocked this out for my whole life and then when someone dies its like ■■■■ man what do i do now :frowning:

Yeah I noticed many of us don’t think about these things until we lose someone we love or we get sick ourselves or both. But yeah I believe there is an afterlife we all go to. I believe we are spiritual beings have a human experience and where we go is pure, unconditional love and light.

Sorry for your loss. If believing in heaven helps you, then BELIEVE!!! One thing I think about when someone dies is that there’s no more physical pain, just peace.

Once you’re dead you’re nothing but fertilizer.

But if you want to believe, then do whatever you want. Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

i just need some reassurance about it i guess
i dont think its nice saying he is just fertilizer
you have no feelings i think

Maybe you’ll find this comforting? I do.

I like how he says, “Death is not an end as many people had hoped or expected.”.

I hope so, because we suffer so much we deserve to go to heaven

Look for a heaven on earth! No one ever does and that sux. Little carrots dangling don’t make a happy society.

No. You move from energy to energy. I look forward to devoting my tiny miniscule energy to the void! I contributed that in life and when I leave I will impact upon that universe ever so slightly!

I’m happy with that!

im not sure myself…but when the first time a person closest to me passed away. i never thought i would cry, i never did think there woulid be a “funeral”…in the end out of all options. they will always end up knowing more than us. what i mean is that in general, what people believee as far religions go, it sorta doesnt matter, cause they know more than YOU. You can say this or that, but if they had a choice, would they choose yours in the END? as far anybody religous or not…Foreve and ever…

EDIT: i meant the people that passed away obv…not sure how people saw my msg

“Yesterday’s endings will tomorrow life give you
All that dies, dies for a reason
To put its strength into the seasons”

The Way of Truth
Remains still an only speech of the way [what says] It is: on this [way] there are many signs, that Being is not-generated and undying, entire and motionless and endless; not sometimes it was nor sometimes it will be, because it is now, whole together, one, continuous: which origin in fact will you search of it? How and whence would it grow? From Non-Being I will not allow you to say or to think: in fact What Is Not is absolutely unutterable and unthinkable. What necessity would push it, if it originated from nothing, to be born after or before? So it is necessary or that it is entirely or that it is not at all. Never force of certainty will concede that from Being something arises next to it: because of this the Justice did not allow it to be born or to die loosening it from the chains, but she holds it still.

How could what Is perish? How could it have come to be? For if it came into being, it is not; nor is it if ever it is going to be. Thus coming into being is extinguished, and destruction unknown.

For this view, that That Which Is Not exists, can never predominate. You must debar your thought from this way of search, nor let ordinary experience in its variety force you along this way, (namely, that of allowing) the eye, sightless as it is, and the ear, full of sound, and the tongue, to rule; but you must judge by means of the Reason the much-contested proof which is expounded by me.

I believe existence never ends. All is consciousness.

I think your uncle used his mind and did mindtravel.

My voices say death is not that big of a deal.
