Hey guys, as above , thoughts?
My grandma has schizophrenia and my uncle has bipolar. I have schizoaffective
I think an uncle of mine had bipolar but I’m not sure. Other than that there’s nothing in our family tree.
My cousin has sz
My uncle is Schizophrenic. He stays in a psychiatric care home. I also have 2 cousins who have had psychoses. Also, the aunt of my dad stayed her entire life in a psychiatric facility. The uncle of my dad also had a psychosis when he was young. Psychoses everywhere.
No one has a mental illness in my family or in my extended family.
No no nobody…
But I’m weird as well, sometimes feel very distant from my biological family.
Two of my aunts have sz, one died already, then one relative committed suicide.
my dad used to drink alcohol.back then they didn’t know alcoholism.it was normal.
My cousin has depression, but I’m the first one to have psychosis.
My family doesn’t tell me anything about it, but my mom has a 2nd depression, she felt okay for a year after 5 years or so depressed and then relapsed.
My dad doesn’t tell me anything but he takes(or took) haldol.
Go figure it out…
I have sza
my mum’s grandma was in a psychiatric facility but i don’t know what she had. And my aunt has drug induced psychosis. My niece has BPD.
My father’s family has a history of mental illness. My paternal aunt, paternal grandfather & paternal granduncle all have schizophrenia.
Many members of my family, immediate and distant, have depression and anxiety. I also have a couple family members with OCD. One cousin of mine may have sz.
nope, im the only one, all the alcoholics in the family think im mentally ill but i wonder if they don’t have some issues themselves. dad is a bit of paranoid right wing conspiracy guy, i sometimes suspect he has mental illness as well, but he doesn’t drink. im not a doctor though, hard to say,
My grandmother on my moms side spent a year in a mental hospital back in the 1940’s or 1950’s. The doctors called it a “nervous breakdown” but back then a nervous breakdown was kind of an umbrella diagnosis that covered a lot of different mental illnesses.
My grandfather had a lot of money and the hospital was a very nice, upscale hospital where my grandmother spent the days relaxing and playing the piano.
I believe there is but it was not confirmed because it was cases in a developing country and facilities and practice was not such.
My uncle was diagnosed with sz
when he was young.
I haven’t talked with him about it
How did his life go? Did it disable him?
I’m the only one in my family with a mental illness that I know of
