I was on Invega sustenna 117mg for few years until I relapsed abruptly. Mental ward changed to haloperidol and I was on it for 2 years. Haloperidol was too sedating so with my psychiatrist’s blessing changed back to invega, but a higher dosage - 156mg. Is it a significant (in a good way) increase? I read its like going from 6mg Invega pills to 9mg.

Does invega help you? I’m just wondering. I’ve been on perphenazine for a long while. I’m still on it. Remember which one helped you the most.
I took 234mg monthly. It was helpful but caused serious weight gain, and then stopped working. So I’m on haloperidol now
It helped a lot in the past, stayed on 117mg for 4 years without a relapse, managed to graduate from a univerrsity and hold a job at the same time. Sadly i stopped my medication and relapsed, after that was put on Invega and relapsed after a year (I read that after few relapses, you need a higher dose). Now its working better than a haloperidol than I have something to compare to

Like did you relapse on Invega? How did it stopped working? After how long?
I was delusional and hallucinating more than usual while on Invega. It quieted everything at first though. Bummer. Plus I hated the weight gain. I’m back on Haldol

God I hated when I was on Invega. I guess I was one of the unlucky one. Whenever they are having meds trial I’d be in that small percentage with unwanted side effects.
P.S My dose was really high since my first pdoc was needle happy. Almost had mental illness herself how obsessed she was in prescribing/baiting me to take highest dose possible on every single that was recommended. Although I admit I was ■■■■■■ beyond anything. So maybe her worry was warranted.
To me Invega is much better, I was constantly having panic attacks, akathisia and wtiff muscles on haloperidol. I was still being sympyomatic on haloperidol despite going 20mg max depot dose

On what dose of Invega did she try to put you on? 12mg oral pr 234mg injection dose compared to risperidone 16mg max is nothing. 12mg of Invega is like 6mg of risperidone only
This is probably non answer but I can’t recall numbers. One thing I remember that for brief period of time all my meds were maxed out doses. The side effects were out of this world. Including downregulation of my dopapamine where I was no longer comfortable taking any medication whatsoever.
On what meda are you now?
I’m in recovery so I don’t really need any medication. I’m managing my symptoms without any flare outs with dietary intervention alone Keto or carnivore way of eating in my case. No carbs, no inflammation, etc.
Not sure about this “science” I definitely need meds or i go crazy, tried everything

Humans have to eat. Might as well take something that’s good for your brain and bod.

Im just worried that it wouldnt stop working like the last time, thats why my pdoc upped my dose, not sure if its gonna be enough
