Upped my invega dosage, consulted with my new psychiatrist

I am currently still in a switch from haloperidol depot to Invega depot. I was at various doses of haloperidol depot from 50mg to 200mg monthy and those doses did not make any differences. Im off of haloperidol for about 6 weeks and im feeling an improvement in cognition, mental clarity, mood and motivation. 4 weeks ago I was injected with 117mg. As I have relapsed on that dose of Invega, I was thinking for a long timę to increase and pdoc advised to get 156mg injection. So I injected that dosage today, feel really calm and a bit sedated, but I havent had much sleep last night. My new pdoc is really friendly and he was in a great mood today. He helped to get my papers ready for a disability allowance. My pdoc also said that haloperidol is really heavy duty med that makes people “vegetables”. I really hope i won’t relapse on this doasage. One thing I didn’t talk about my lexapro as currently I am in love-hate relationship with it. My idea was to increase Invega and stop lexapro, which I stopped recently as it makes me numbed down and having a difficulty falling asleep and feeping apathetic. Thank you for reading!

I also have my distance from Haloperidol now. It would be called withdrawal psychosis and not relapse. Haloperidol is non addictive.

I still feel like the men are after me. My guess is that the pdoc will up my dosage when I see her next

Yeah I upped mine today. Feeling a bit uneasy. Haloperidol blocked my thoughts and emotions. It is VERY overehelming to have those back

Im on the max dose of invega trinza. Every 3 months i get an injection. I like it. I dont have to remember to take pills. And it mostly keeps the crazy thoughts away.

I meant I relapsed on while being on Invega 2 years ago, then I was put on haloperidol depot. I changed back 4 weeks ago back to Invega higher dosage

I’m sorry. I hope you feel better soon

Nice, I am also on invega 6 mg. Right now trying to lose weight in it. Been on it for a year now. Was on the injection for 5 years.

I’m gaining weight on it. Somehow I need to buckle down and do a strict diet again to counteract this.

Yeah. It’s tough if it all floods back all at once though. Hopefully you level out soon

Yes, I look up to you from all the weight you lost. Don’t want to ruin all your hard work. So far I have lost 4 pounds on invega just started dieting this month. Counting calories. Hoping to stick with it. I am at 212 now hoping to be in onederland in 3 months.

I also found SSRI,s work really well with Invega

Great job!!! That’s good progress. You’re right, I don’t want to gain it back. Without alcohol, now that I’m sober, I’m noticing I’m super hungry. I just bought lots of lean and low calorie proteins to keep myself full so I can get back to losing again. Thanks for the compliment by the way.

You are welcome. I was drinking a little while on the invega. And I think that contributed to my weight gain. Last night after no alcohol for 16 days I slipped and had 3 white claws. 140 calories each. So I went 420 calories over my calorie amount. Plus I had 4 extra muffins. I messed up. But today I am back on track. Hope it won’t have too much effect on my weight gain.

Just worry about today each day. If you mess up, you can get back on track every new day.

It helps to have one day per week where you have a higher calorie amount so you can enjoy a small something.

On my diet, I ate 1200 calories per day and once a week I had 1400. That meant I could have a 200 calorie treat per week. It really helped keep me from feeling deprived.

I managed to lose 30kg+ (66lbs+) on Invega + escitalopram combo. I was eating junk food everyday, but was also hitting the gym everyday

Good job @Newlyborn ! Yeah, I go to the gym too. I need exploratory surgery though due to pain while engaging my core. I can’t jog or walk anymore it’s so intense. It’s a separate issue though from why I’m going to u of m for a very specialized dr. We thought I had hernias because the pain is at previous surgical incision sites, but it’s not that. But, it might be scar tissue that needs to be released. So I go to the gym but no longer get as good a workout in.
