The worst drug? From personal experience and from reading others stories it’s also an over prescribed drug for me personally it didn’t fully work I still had crippling symptoms and increased anxiety made me eat constantly and turned off my concentration It’s time they did some proper studies so they can choose the best drugs and then better them.
Risperdal, the drug I am currently on, is usually a very effective drug for the positive symptoms of schizophrenia and a very good medication for mania and mixed episodes in bipolar disorder - it has good mood stabilizing properties for me.
Like all antipsychotics it is not without side effects - Risperdal has the propensity to raise prolactin levels and many times causes blood glucose levels to rise, and has other side effects.
But risperidone is one of the more effective medications as far as SZ and Bipolar symptom control is involved.

Risperidone worked for me well other than the fact I couldn’t ejaculate on it…that’s why I switched off of it. Not the worst drug I’ve been on. Prolixin and haldol were the worst. And I hated the side-effects of clozaril but needed it at the time.
Zyprexa and abilify were probably the best. I’m currently on abilify. But everyones different.
