My current diagnosis is bipolar disorder and I can become psychotic when manic or mixed.
First Pdoc wanted me to be Bi-polar, then wondered why her treatment wasn’t effective. She later changed it to Psychosis NOS for a while. Still couldn’t get my meds right. She had me on three APs, two mood stabilizers, and two anti depressants. I didn’t know which way was up or down with my symptoms.
She sent me for a second opinion, easily diagnosed SZA depressive, got on proper meds and have been much better off without her.
Proper diagnostics are important.

Ive been told im psychotic but we’re still figuring out what it’s coming from. I dont know what it could be aside from sz, and my doctor doesnt seem to suspect bipolar.
I think waiting and doing my own introspection helped a lot. I knew my symptoms well enough that the doctor was able to tell i was psychotic in the first half-hour appointment.
My diagnosis was first psychosis, then chronic psychosis. Now it’s sz. I don’t know when exactly it changed but to me nothing changed since the beginning.
I didnt know chronic psychosis was something you could get diagnosed with. How is that any different from sz?
Right now my diagnosis is just psychosis but it’s been going on for over three years so i can make a wild guess that something chronic is at work.
