I have 2 diagnoses: paranoid schizophrenia and schizoaffective
Plus depression, anxiety, and ptsd

Unspecified mood disorder

Well the first time I was hospitalized they said schizophrenia OR bipolar… then a few months later they said it was schizophrenia… during my second hospitalization they said schizoaffective… and they haven’t changed it since (a year later) so I’m going with schizoaffective

how is it possible to be both schizoaffective and schizophrenic? is that possible? i didn’t think it was

I got to choose my own diagnosis. I got a list of about 50 different ones, and I was like “unspecified psychosis sounds pretty cool” and the doc went: “you got it pal” jk

so far the schizoaffectives are leading. i wouldn’t have expected that. i wonder if the schizophrenics will take the lead eventually.

It’s between bipolar and schizoaffective

I was diagnosed Psychosis NOS for a few years until we stopped my meds. My psychiatrist warned me that if I relapse without meds it will be changed to sz. That’s why I think sz and psychosis are similar. After being put on meds the second time diagnosis changed to sz.

I diagnosed myself.
I’m terminally handsome and incurably cool.

I don’t know, but I have both diagnoses in my chart. Maybe they’re deciding between the two?

One dr thought schizophrenia long time ago. One pdoc bipolar and possibly epilepsy. Another schizophreniform. And current is bipolar 1 with psychosis

You are either schizoaffective or have schizophrenia…schizoaffective involves mood disorders and schizophrenia is a thought disorder. Where I work, in a crisis center one can sometimes be diagnosed schizophrenia with bi-polar features, but remember all formal diagnosis take seeing a doctor regularly for at least 6 months

depression and schizophrenia

Psychotic depression and PTSD

schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorder

Was also diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, label since changed to Autism along with the SZ.
