Is lack of patience ADHD?

I don’t have patience. I start doing things then give up fast. Is that ADHD?

If you were suffering from adhd I doubt that you’d be bedbound as you are. People with adhd constantly move, talk and engage in different activities. They are also able to hyperfocus on things that interest them.

So the lack of patience can be negative symptoms?

My pdoc told me sz can cause concentration and memory problems.

The lack of patience is because you aren’t doing anything productive. You sit with your phone and check things online. When you finally are doing something you are playing computer games. All of these activities aren’t exactly establishing “patience” in your brain circuitry.

Yes, the problem probably originated from your neg’s but has turned in to a behavioral problem.

I’m just like you. I think the negatives have made my brain in to mush. But whats worse is that I’m not doing anything that requires me to be patient and focus. It has turned in to an excuse.

I hope you find some activities that you find enjoyable. Can’t you order some magazines or books? Perhaps establish a new interest?

I’m trying to win an auction on eBay, a camera. I hope I win it so I have a reason to go out and take pictures.

I mean like watching TV. Sometimes I have patience to watch it but it doesn’t last long. I didn’t have this problem on Abilify, I was in university even full time or 5 courses for some semesters.

I used to order stimulants online (before I got ill) and even then I didn’t do ■■■■. I just browsed things online and masturbated to porn (A sign of too much dopamine).

I was also attending to school before this and I had good grades, despite being prodromal. I was able to watch movies, read magazines and books. Sit in school for hours. Learn CAD etc.

Not anymore!

I ordered some magazines and I am going to try to start reading again. I doubt that I need more dopamine or stimulants in my system. I need to engage myself on small things. I hope I win that camera!!

Did you try Abilify? It really helped me and my negative symptoms but I can’t take it anymore. I was on it for 8yrs.

Oh nvm you’re already on Vraylar.

Were you worse on Risperidone? The negative symptoms.

It’s ridiculous how many people are diagnosed with adhd. My cousin recently got diagnosed. Some people are restless and like to move their bodies rather than sit and read.

But I think prescribing drugs to people is good for the economy. Pharma gets a share and people tend to work more.

On risperidone I became very emotional and depressed. Yes the neg’s were worse but the depression was brutal. I had to quit taking it.

I’ll probably try a higher dose. I will talk to my doc!

I am stuck with risperidone, it sucks. My pdoc didn’t want to change my meds so I found a new pdoc who told my previous pdoc to prescribe me Clozapine for negative and cognitive symptoms. She said it blocks much less dopamine than my risperidone. I changed my mind later and refused Clozapine. I don’t have any positive symptoms now on risperidone so why try Clozapine.

My Drs didn’t want to prescribe it as they said its similar to Abilify. The FDA has the same addictions warnings for Rexulti and Abilify. Its why I am waiting for Vraylar. Maybe I should try Rexulti given that Vraylar isn’t available yet here, idk.

I think you should give it a try. Why not?
