I don’t intend to access meds because they are stimulants that can cause psychosis in individuals susceptible to it. What will a diagnosis achieve? I was advise to get an assessment during my autism assessment.

Maybe it will help you to better understand yourself and help with treatment.
If you have the time and energy I would go for the free assessment.

What will your goal with it be? How can it help or harm?
For me, gimme the label if it helps me understand myself better. If it helps them understand me better, with strengths and weaknesses both. And helps better my actual situation. ADHD doesn’t do that for me. So I won’t get a test.
You need to weigh your own situation though.

Just some food for thought for you. ADHD is not something you just think you want to have. I have it. It’s a lifelong destructive disorder that has major negative impacts on my life and I need to take medication for it or I don’t function in society. It’s pretty serious in my opinion. I don’t want to have this.

I’m not saying I want to have it. The person who assessed me for autism said it the report I’m displaying some signs and she said I need a further assessment. I think I will ask for the assessment after I get back from holiday.

Ok thank you I might ask for a referral to a clinic that can prescribe in that case. I was initially thinking to go through a different clinic with a shorter waiting time because they don’t prescribe.
