Is it ok to eat pineapple with meds?

Does it interact with meds? I know grapefruit does with lots of meds.

I found this, pineapple has bromelain:

"Bromelain can also interfere with certain medications, including some drugs in the following classes:

  • antibiotics.
  • blood thinners.
  • antidepressants.
  • anticonvulsants."

Are you going to eat pineapple everyday? I don’t think occassional few slices would hurt unless your doc tells you about it specifically.

My family Dr told me to avoid grapefruit.

You might want to ask him about pineapples as well then.

As far as I know. I just had a slice of pineapple yesterday. My head has not burst into flames or anything. Always ask the doc , though.

I drank pineapple juice every day for many months. No problem. Orange juice got to me though.

I saw a video on YouTube about someone who had a fear of pineapples, they really freaked the guy out, lol.
