Just interesting how one particular fruit is apparently bad with meds. Maybe I don’t remember correctly thou

By altering or reducing amount of serotonin in blood,when mixed with Zoloft etc.

Yeah my pdoc told me not to eat grapefruit either. I’m on sertraline, Latuda, Lamictal, gabapentin, benztropine and now propanolol.

Grapefruit and it’s juice interacts with a lot of our meds.
I know that this was true of Tegretol.

I was told it was okay to have grapefruit 4 hours before and 4 hours after.

Grapefruit interacts with abilify from what I remember.

To my understanding, eating grapefruit while on these certain meds will not kill you but it will reduce the effectiveness of the drug. I heard that somewhere.

I remember when I was on a cholesterol lowering medication called Zocor I was not supposed to eat grapefruit either.

I have that on Lurasidone it has to do with CYP3A4 inhibitors. I think thats something to do with the enzymes in your body.

If you are on risperidone then it increases the effect by 700%!

Don’t eat grapefruit on risperidone.
