My anxiety is worsened by clozapine(clozaril) due to anti-serotonin properties of clozapine. Its so intense that only benzo fixes it. And I dont want to take benzos due to memory/forgetfulness problems.
So I thought maybe we can reduce clozapine(clozaril) dose and add low dose olanzapine(zyprexa) ?
Any thoughts ?
I was on a low dose of zyprexa with Clozapine and it killed my anxiety for sure.
I always found olanzapine to be excellent for anxiety !!
I take low dose seroquel with my main ap Geodon for anxiety. It works for me
Interesting, ive never thought of it as an anxiety med.
I don’t think it would help much.On dose of 250 mg clozapine,I’ve tried 15 mg of Zyprexa in divided doses and it made me only more hungry.
I’m not a psychiatrist, so I can’t give you an authoritative suggestion. A lot of that kind of thing is individual. People can react to the same med differently. Clozaril totally destroyed my balance. I can’t really even walk when I take it. I don’t want any more of that. Work with your pdoc and see if you can find the best med for you.
