Is aspartame worse than sugar?

Suger could give you diabetes and make you gain weight…but aspartame might give you inflammation and cancer, or so I’ve heard.

I bought some chocolate milk that said it had no sugar in it. I thought…well that’s nice. The milk is a little bit sweet on it’s own. But then when I came home I saw they put aspartame in it. Crap. Well…I’ll drink it up, but I’d rather have sugar than aspartame.

Sugar was too hard to quit - just tried -

I am using half sugar - half substitute -

Hope my next bloodwork shows better numbers for PD.

Aspartame doesn’t cause cancer that’s a myth. But it never made people lose weight either. It messes with your blood sugar because your body is fooled into thinking it had sugar.

Well, I wouldn’t exactly call it a myth. If you google aspartame and cancer there are studies that give probabilities to a link, while other sources dismiss it. I guess it’s one of those things the scientists will keep arguing about.

I’m diabetic so I minimize my sugar intake.

I use Splenda sweetener in my coffee/tea, I actually like the flavour better than sugar, but only in coffee/tea. In food sugar is king.
