Is anyone in the UK worried?

About then having to work and benefits being taken away or pip getting replaced with vouchers.

Yes I’m worried. It’s one of the main reasons I’m applying for work and telling myself I have to do this, whatever happens, I have to become able to earn because the benefit cut will be a huge sum for us.

I’m not bothered what the authorities do I wanna work.

The political parties always attack people on benefits before an election so I wouldn’t worry about it unless it actually happens which I doubt will.

I decided to give myself until October to be on benefits. So yea I hope it can remain.

It’s very kind of them.

I can’t see how they can cut PIP for seriously disabled people or give vouchers. I think people diagnosed with SZA/SZ are in the seriously disabled group.

They don’t always look at diagnosis, they look more at how it effects you.

I mean. My cousin with anxiety gets more than me.

I live in supported living with a large care package from social services and the NHS, I guess in the eyes of the DWP I’m classed as severely disabled. When I went to my one and only ESA assessment in 20 years of claiming benefits the assessor who was a nurse said they made a mistake to call and and could see I was severely disabled and told my supported living manager my benefits will remain the same…

Yes but you could have anxiety that’s classed as more severely debilitating than sz. But you have the supports so you have people there to back you up.

Many people have high support needs and have nobody to back them up.

Yeah I feel I do, but the mental health team keep discharging me cos I’m complaint. But that doesn’t mean I don’t struggle. It’s hard but I’m trying … Just hope they don’t stop the pip it helps a little

Nah not at all. I think they are targeting those with anxiety and depression for those on pip - and going to offer them therapeutic work instead.

Schizophrenia is classed as a severe mental illness - i reckon us on PIP are pretty safe.

Edit. beaten. yeah i didnt read the thread.

Dont worry about it anyway - I doubt this government will be around much longer with the election looming, so hopefully the policy will go away/.
