Invega users does it get better?

I been on it for 2 years in November coming up does it get better from hear or should I expect the same ?

I personally didn’t like Invega. That’s why I switched to Abilify. I did not like the way Invega made me feel. I was only on it for like a year and a half though so I can’t tell you for sure if you can expect any changes. I would think not though.

Might be worthwhile switching. I’ve done it quite a lot in the past as I’m keen for best function. Sometimes that has worked. Sometimes It’s failed miserably but in the end I got to where it’s a good trade off between symptom control and side effects…need to bring this up with your doctor and explore some options.

I don’t really like how it makes me feel to much either but its the best med I been on so far I tried sequel geodon and resperidal and I did hope abilify would be the best but it made me delusional by day 4 I quit it immediately

I ended up on zyprexa. I came here so knew all the horror stories but this was back in the early 2000’s. I didn’t have a lot of choice so it was basically that or risperdal or seroquel. I had problems with poverty of thought on risperdal and just never gelled for me so moving to zyprexa ended up being the right move…

Saying that. We are all different but if you have a good doc they might get a handle on your symptoms and maybe what will work for you. It’s a tough choice…you can go backwards so it’s important to cover your bases and that helps if you’ve a doctor on your side to keep tabs on you and your symptoms…

I do want to try vrylar but concerned that its like abilify and I will get same results

Vraylar, Rexulti and Abilify are similar in that they are partial dopamine agonists but I’m not sure about the differences in efficacy. That might take some research to find out. I know abilify doesn’t work for some people. Vraylar might be worth a shot though.

Well @cigarino it ain’t too bad I just deal with negatives and it does do away with the positives for the most part I just wonder if there’s better u know

oh i thought you meant you still have positive symptoms, ive been on invega about 2 years also, i have no positive symptoms but i frequently fear that im just in remission and not having symptoms from lasting effects of the last med i was on that i know was effective for me. it probably works tho i just have bad anxiety

Hmm. . .

I’ve Been On Invega For A Few Years And It Works Very Well.

But!, The Talk About POSITIVE & NEGATIVE Symptoms Sends Me Into Curiosity.

What Are [[[ Positive ]]] & [[[ Negative ]]] Symptoms (???).

And Why Should Anyone Even Take Notice Or Care About Such?.

@ATARI well positives are voices hallucinations delusional thinking and negatives are stuff like lack of motivation and depression

Hmm. . .

That Is A Very Interesting Fact To Take Note Of.

Thank You!.

Some people expect their latest medication to be a “magic bullet” and and cure-all. As been drilled into me many times by Psychiatrists - any drug is only meant to work ALONGSIDE therapy, and frankly YOU using and learning your own COPING personal techniques and skills.

Having the needle in your arse - and magically expecting to feel 100% simply aint gonna happen.

Surprisingly it didn’t work for me although risperidone did. They are generally the same, just that paliperidone is later and has a patent on it which makes it more expensive according to my old psychiatrist.

I’m comfortable on invega but man did the sleep suck for years still have vivid dreams noe I also have intrusive thoughts and I’m too lazy to do anything besides go on short walks
