Moved to the correct category.

As my doctor put it nicely, I’m in durable remission thanks to taking my meds as prescribed.

I did survive on very low doses, until I didn’t, I was arrogant enough to want to tell everyone how I made it by sheer willpower. Guess what, sz has a will of its own, very insidious and cruel.

Stay on meds.

I’d say I’m in remission with the help of meds.

Haven’t had any positive symptoms for about a year now

I haven’t been in remission fully in 35 years but my level of functioning has waxed and waned. Right now I’m still experiencing positives but I’m able to maintain my apartment and car, so long as I’m not in the hospital I’m happy. I can’t believe i just got out of there a week ago, it’s night and day in one week…

I’m never in complete, total remission and never have been but, my sz/sza could and has been described as residual.

Definately I am in remission. With no meds from 2 years and 10 months, maintaining my job, family and social activities.

I don’t intend to say that I’m in “remission,” as that sounds a bit arrogant or careless. Schizophrenia is a long-term, chronic illness, and it’s a severe psychiatric disorder, so it deserves to be paid full attention to. I have to try to be mindful, at least in the foreseeable future.
