anyone here enter remission?
No have you? 1515
yes since 2010 I feel well every day, 9 years of bliss on and off, I make mental illness look cool…
I’ve been pretty stable for well over a decade without major episodes. I take my medicine religiously and I’m proactive with my health but I still have bad days and periods of breakthrough symptoms.
I don’t live a normal life but I enjoy it and live as large as I can. In those terms…I’m pretty close I’d say!
But I mean, you’re taking antipsychotics right? When someone says remission I think of no symptoms no meds.
Can you really say this is a true remission?
its always there. functioning. can’t work
My paranoia is better. Delusions better too I think ( then again how could I be sure lol)
I am happy that the auditory and visual hallucinations stopped many years ago after I started Risperdal. Now about the only auditory hallucination I get in a crowded store is hearing my wifes voice say “hey hon” when she isnt there which isn’t so bad.
Disorganized speech happens especially when i am anxious and my body language is pretty screwed up but that may be more from Aspergers if I ever pay to get diagnosed.
I get depression and suicidal ideations somewhat frequently. I don’t make plans though.
My negative symptoms arent too bad but my bipolar symptoms are a bit annoying since i will be full throttle for a couple days and then crash for awhile afterwards.
My BMI is about 30 but I dont think I look too obese.
My mom had sz really bad and was bedridden and then dead before she reached my age so I mostly feel fortunate.
I havent been in the hospital in a couple years and the last time it was mostly just physical exhaustion.
I think stigma is really hard sometimes and i feel like a misfit in a lot of organizations. I am glad I attend an Aspie support group and cautiously started going back to my old church. Most of my local friends are mentally ill too so I seem to connect best with them.
be patient at church
Ive had one major remission but it came back. since then been on and off between ill periods and well periods
