I’m thinking about to begin a volunteering here in my city, to help some people that also have schizophrenia here.

It’s an association for people that have schizophrenia, his families and friends.

Opinions? Some advices?

@asgoodasitgets,

Thank you! :blush:

Sounds good. I’ve thought about doing some volunteer work but the last time I tried I got rejected. At least the way I tried it was still like a job interview. Maybe it will be symbiotic and helping them will help you.

Here there are some light courses for support workers giving general support in many areas. Qualified support work is half the training of the social work training. The quick courses are available though unsure of what that entails. Better to have some training then throw yourself into it blindfolded. Still a case of a balance of work rest and play as when supporting anyone always look after your mental health first and foremost.

I learned a lot about what is to be suffering, the symptoms of schizophrenia, and how a word of peace and love can help people.

And how negative words could hurt people, as I have been injured emotionally by my family and some false friends in 2010 to 2011.

I think that I need to act and help other people and show them that there is hope.

That is awesome of you! Hope it works out!

Thank you all for your support. :slight_smile:

The problem is that my father doesn’t want to support me in this project and probably my closest aunt also will not support me. Probably my psychologist will support me, I need to talk with her today.

Sounds positive and productive. Go for it.
