I haven’t seen one in over a year. I’ve seen a nurse but that’s it.
I mostly just see a nurse as well.
I was thinking the complete opposite…I go monthly now, it used to every two weeks and it is sort of a big inconvenience… and from reading everyone else’s stories I was starting to have thoughts that the Psych doc had the

️for me or something since she wanted to see me so much …
So no therapy for you guys ?
You just go in and she says “Hi… how are you? … how do you fee?.. oh ok that’s good … any concerns ? … do you feel like you want to harm yourself or others? Here’s your refill … Have a nice day?”
In the USA we see a psychiatrist or APRN for meds. Not everyone sees a psychiatrist, you can see an APRN. But if you do you usually won’t see a psychiatrist at all. If you see a psychiatrist, you’ll probably see him or her more than once a year. I used to see him every other week now it’s every month.
I just finished with the mental health clinic, I only see the Pdoc twice a year now and the nurse calls every so often, not sure how it will work, I go to the GP for meds now, unless things fall apart then I go back to the mental health clinic.
@MissPrissy352 I guess I’m ugly, they don’t want to see me anymore
We have to see pdoc at least every six months, because specialists reports (with which you go to gp for meds) last only that long.
And that six months regime is when you are doing well. If you need therapy corrections or some other help you will see them mostly on bi-weekly basis.
I see my pdoc every month or two, but soon i expect to see her less often, bless her.
My goal is to sometime in the future see the pdoc just once every 6 months. It was weekly when I was in crisis or changing meds. then every 2 weeks for a long while, then monthly for years. Now I’m at every 6 weeks. Its these little progressions in recovery that keep me going.
I usually see my pdoc once every six months, or if I’m doing badly, as needed.
