Im starting to get afraid to go out

I went out today and after work had a coffee from the coffee shop. Trying not to give so much attention to myself. Im starting to get afraid of people.

That’s usually a sign to me that I’m becoming unwell. When I’m paranoid to go out. Maybe it’s time to talk to your doc or slightly adjust your meds just for a 2 weeks or so

Spotlight effect is killer. One of the symptoms/delusions that none of the meds I’ve taken have touched. Which is why I was hopeful about Cobenfy. Hoping I can get past the insurance snag

Curious what the spotlight effect is? Is that like when you feel everyone is looking at you?

Yeah. I get it pretty bad at the big grocery stores. I also feel it while I’ve been walking the dog recently – just feel like people are kinda watching me from their homes

Ah true I see. I used to have that kinda. I don’t get it much. I assume it’s related to like panic attacks and such.

I can’t say if I still do, as I’ve not been out much recently, but I used to get ideas of reference quite badly.

fight your fear by going to public spaces or you might become too afraid…best to fight it before it gets out of hand.

I went out one day wearing my shades and I was not paranoid. The next day I went out without my shades and I was paranoid.

I got used to being in public after pushing myself a little bit at a time. It’s gotten a lot better even though I still prefer being at home with my pussycat.

If you’re worried about being attacked or if you live in a high crime area it’s legal in most states to carry an EDC knife. Also a lot of places offer free self defense classes to women and seniors.

Take care. - Monte
